We are beyond grateful for the diligent nature of Ms.Camille's tutoring style. She always comes prepared with words, numbers, addition, subtraction, measures, fractions, stories, rewards, homework etc. My son's penmanship has improved tremendously since he started with Ms.Camille and we hope to have him be his teacher for a long time to come!! Again, one of the best that I have worked with!!
Camille has tutored my son who is 7 years old over the summer break. My husband and I have seen great improvements in his math and reading skills shortly after she started teaching him. We are very pleased. I can absolutely recommend her to anybody who is looking for an experienced tutor.
Camille has been so good for my grandson. He has come a long way in his reading skills. This program is so good for children, I love it. Thank you so much.
Ms. Camille has taught both of my children to read and my entire family adores her. My son was behind on his reading in kindergarten and in a matter of months he became the best reader in the class. She always comes well prepared with many activities to keep their interest. I don’t know what I would have done without her.
My granddaughter is improving and doing well in school. Lessons seem to be helping. I'm looking forward for great report card.
Ms Camille is a wonderful teacher. She loves what she does and is very passionate about it. She does a great job with my son and gives him little perks to encourage him. She sometimes comes on her day off to drop off library books and gifts for him. I will say she is God sent and will recommend her to any parent in need of a tutor for her child.
When my niece from Mexico told me she was coming to visit me for 3 weeks I decided to get her a tutor for her to improve her English. I took a chance and signed up with WyzAnt where I found Camille H. Once we met Camille for my Niece evaluation I knew she was the right choice. Camille came to our house for 3 weeks every day for 2 hrs and provided my niece with a calendar of English lessons that included vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and conversation. My niece enjoyed every single class since Camille always went the extra mile to make learning fun. My niece improved every aspect of her English and she was very confident to go back to Mexico and get a better grade in her English classes. I strongly recommend Camille as a teacher and tutor, she is great!
We hired Camille primarily to teach our son how to read. He knew most of the sounds of the alphabet which we needed to convert to reading. Like most kids he gets distracted very quickly. Camille takes the first session to understand your child's needs by way of a leisurely quiz and then customizes her lesson for your child's specific needs.
She brought games, toys and other creative ideas that made our son engaged and enjoy the learning process. Within two months he learned how to read basic sentences. We then incorporated other subjects like Math and Science. She again exceeded our expectations as she had him do science projects that helped our son learn about the environment, plants, animals and basic applications of math.
She also gives relevant homework to ensure your child is mastering the concepts.
I definitely recommend Camille and looking forward to her tutoring our 1 year old—of course when she gets older.
Camille is a good tutor. I was impressed with the amount of extra work she provided for my child. She also encouraged him by allowing him small rewards. She was great to work with.
Camille attended Bruce's after school concert last Thursday evening. Her presence was unexpected but so appreciated by my son and me. Thank you.
Such a great tutor, she came in and assessed my daughter and started working on her problem areas ASAP.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade. I have taught the following subjects: reading, language arts, math, spelling, science, and social studies.
In teaching elementary math to students, I would use many strategies and techniques to help the student develop his/her math skills. I would introduce the concept to be taught, and use many examples to help the student learn the concept. I would have math manipulatives, math games, charts, paper and pencil activities, an abacus, or whatever is needed in the lesson to help the student grasp the concept being taught. When appropriate, I would use books, fingerplays, and songs in my lessons to to help the very young learn math concepts.
I would try to make my lessons interesting to the student. I would determine what skills and concepts are appropriate for the age and grade level of the student, and tailor my lessons to the needs of each individual student.
From learning to counting from 1-10 to learning the multiplication tables, I would do whatever I can to help the student develop his/her math skills and knowledge to become a confident learner.
In teaching English, I would strive to help the student develop skills in grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, and paragraph writing. I would use different strategies to help students learn these skills. If a student reteaching of a sill, I would reteach the skill to the student. I would work at a pace suitable for the student. I use a lot of positive reinforcement.
In teaching ESL, the teacher uses different strategies and techniques to help nonEnglish speakers develop their skills in the English language. The teacher strives to help the student become adept and confident with both his oral and written English language skills. The teacher will concentrate on helping the student learn to speak English, teach the student how to pronounce words, teach the proper use of grammar and syntax, and teach the correct spelling of words. The student will receive help with the real life experiences he may face in his daily life in which he is required to speak, read, and write in English.
I can help the student learn the rules of grammar and punctuation. I will help the student learn how to apply these rules in his/her writing.
When teaching students to proofread, I would teach them the skills they need to correct written work. I would use strategies that would help them develop the skills and give them the practice they need to become adept at proofreading written work. Students would learn to use correct punctuation, grammar and sentence structure in their writing.
I am able to teach reading comprehension, reading vocabulary, beginning reading skills, and phonics.
I can teach the student how to spell words on their grade level and the basic rules needed when learning to spell new words.
I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grades in the Texas Public schools. I have twelve years of experience. I have taught reading, language arts, spelling, math, social studies, and science. I use many different strategies and ideas to help students learn. I have a good understanding of what students need to be successful learners. I can help students learn the study skills they will need to make them successful students.
I can help the student learn grade level vocabulary words, and help them learn the meanings of the words. This will enable the student to read and understand the reading passages and stories they will assigned in the classroom.
