My name is Ashleigh. I’m a sophomore linguistics major at UTA, with a minor in German. I’ve taken six years of German and gone on a mini foreign exchange to Austria. I love language, both english and foreign. I’ve also taken a year of mandarin and Japanese. I just don’t feel confident enough to tutor those yet. I’m a published poet, having one of my poems featured in an anthology by the live poets society of New Jersey thanks to a national poetry scholarship.

I love to help out my peers, as well as those younger than me. I have a sister four years younger whom I help with mostly math, but sometimes English as well. It’s very satisfying to see the improvement in students and see them excited to learn.
I have studied German for six years and was on a mini foreign exchange in Australia for a month. I have competed four times in the state German competition in high school, once each year. I’ve won several awards in prose memory, duet acting, sight reading, things of that sort.
I’m a published poet for starters. I’ve been writing since the fifth grade. I started with prose but quickly moved to poetry and haven’t looked back. I’ve always loved to read as well and have acquired a large vocabulary and understanding of English thanks to the books I’ve read. My favorite book is probably Fahrenheit 451, which I read in high school.
I’m very excited to meet everyone and to help the learning process. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll try to respond as quickly as possible, and we can discuss details of lessons and scheduling.
