Hello! I started tutoring because of my love of reading, my love of children, and my love of teaching! I believe reading stimulates your child's imagination and helps your child learn about the world. Reading also develops your child's social skills and skills for managing emotions. I believe that children should have the opportunity to learn new skills and travel the world without leaving their homes. Learning how to read and write with confidence can be your passport to the world!

I like to combine the dedication and discipline of a public school, with the flexibility and one-on-one personalization of a homeschool. Most important, I have the patience and the passion to help your student do their best!

In 2020 I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Education, with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I offer lessons on how to read and write, as well as phonics and reading comprehension. I have 15+ years of experience tutoring children and adults reading comprehension, along with 3 years of experience teaching English as a second language to children ages 3-12.

In 2019 I received a 160-hour TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and a 40-hour TEYL certificate (Teaching English to Young Learners). Each of my lessons is created to give students confidence. I start with a fun way of introducing the content. Then we practice together. This could be with games, music, drawing, acting, or simple worksheets, depending on the students needs and learning style. Finally, I have the student practice and retrieve the knowledge on their own.
