About Jarod

I've been tutoring on and off again since early high school. It was then that I first realized my love for math, science, and helping others learn. Although I never accepted any money because I mostly taught other students in my class, They often expressed gratitude for their improved grades and a better understanding of the material. I have much experience in high school math including algebra, calculus, physics, statistics, and some early chemistry. My teaching method has gotten some criticism because I rarely just give them answers. I believe that simply giving the tools to the student and lightly pushing them in the right direction is the best way to teach. Students that identify as self-motivating and have a genuine desire to learn benefit greatly from this teaching method.

I have a 3.1 GPA currently at Texas Tech University where I have taken classes such as Calculus I, II, and III; Physics I and II; Chemistry I; and I took all levels of algebra in high school. I am also an AP Scholar due to my AP scores from high school with an average score of 3.5. I graduated in the top 10% of my class in high school with distinguished honors in STEM and arts. I have a great love for math and science and I would love to pass down my knowledge to younger learners.

An average AP score of 3.5 on calculus, physics, and statistics. 4.0 GPA in high school while taking AP calculus, AP physics, AP statics, and AP chemistry.

I can't express my love for math and science in just a few short words, but I promise to put all the effort and energy I can into teaching anyone willing to learn. I will have fast response times and I am more than open to parent involvement in the child's education. Feel free to contact me for any additional information or to schedule a lesson!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Received an A+ in algebra 1 and 2 when I took the class in middle and high school. I have also received mostly As and Bs in advance maths such as calculus in both high school and college. As an engineering major in college, I have had to build a solid foundation in maths, which includes algebra.

Calculus

I have received mostly As and Bs in advance maths such as calculus in both high school and college. I also received a 4 on the AP calculus test. As an engineering major in college, I have had to build a solid foundation in maths, which includes calculus.

Drums

I am mostly knowledgeable in marching percussion, i.e. snare drum, tenor drums, and bass drum. In high school, I was the captain of my school's drumline my senior year. I taught many of the younger percussionists different rudiments and drumming techniques. I have also received several 1's and 2's at both regional and area solo & ensemble competitions.

Mechanical Engineering

I've been studying engineering for about 2 years at Texas Tech University. I have accumulated a GPA of 3.1 and will soon be accepted into the Whitacre College of Engineering at TTU. I should have a good grasp on basic engineering concepts.
