About Tyler

I have a passion for many things, but helping people, especially young people, is at the top of my list. I am currently a Master's student in the department of Personal Financial Planning at Texas Tech University. I recently graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech while participating on the baseball team. My time as a collegiate athlete allowed me to learn skills such as teamwork, dedication, and time management. I pride myself in my ability to balance multiple activities, and am excited to share these skills with others.

I am comfortable tutoring many subjects, but specialize in most math courses. I also take pride in my test-taking ability and am confident I can pass this knowledge on to others who might struggle in this area. I am also available for sports lessons, specializing in baseball.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with students who are attempting to better themselves. With hard work, patience, and motivation, we will be able to achieve your goals together.

Math has always been my favorite subject, and I have succeeded at every level. I continue to do math every day in my Master's program, and have done tutoring sessions for algebra in the past.

I received commended performance on every TAKS/STAAR test I have ever taken largely in part to my test-taking skills and strategies. I have acquired these skills from a number of highly experienced teachers who specialize in preparing students for these standardized tests.

I was a member of the Texas Tech baseball team from 2014-2016 and participated in two College World Series'. I currently give lessons and have experience teaching the game.

Please contact me to learn more about any of the above types of tutoring! I would love to work with you/your child, and feel I can provide valuable lessons.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have been proficient in math throughout my academic career, as I have never made a B. I have given tutoring lessons in algebra throughout my college career. My teaching style is slow-paced and solely based on the student's needs.

Baseball

I played baseball on the collegiate level for four years. During my time, I was able to compete in two College World Series' with Texas Tech. I have learned the game from many great coaches and mentors throughout my playing career.

Elementary Math

I like to focus not only on the math, but on the test taking strategies that will help the student succeed on math tests.
