Texas A&M University College Station, TX (English)
I graduated from Texas A & M University in 1993 with a B.A. in English and Speech Communications. In addition, I received my Elementary & Secondary Teaching Certification from Sam Houston State University in 1994. I substitute taught from 1991-1995 in Bryan, College Station, and Spring ISD. In 1995, my family moved to Midland, TX. From 1996-2001, I had two children, and was a "stay at home" mom. During this time I also tutored students, from Kindergarten- 12th Grade, struggling with English (Reading, Writing, and Grammar), and high school students preparing for the SAT.
In 2001 I was hired to teach at Hillander School (an elite private school in Midland). I worked at Hillander until 2012 and taught: Pre School- 6th Grade. I taught every subject from English to Science, and was the P.E. Teacher and coach for the girl's athletic teams. After a knee injury, I pursued my dream of writing a book. The book is in the process of publication now, and I am anxiously awaiting for it to hit the shelves in the next few months. While I await publication, I will be tutoring English (Grades K- 12) and would love to have the opportunity to work with your child!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
