I am headed into graduate school for writing. I currently have two degrees one in English and another in History, and I minored in creative writing. I did all of these concurrently, and know how hard the work in school can be. Everything I learned, and everything I am still learning, goes into everything I do. Including tutoring.
My years of practice have taught me many things about learning. But, I also have years of experience in other fields. I spent ten years working as a personal assistant and tutor for autistic children. I have learned two things from those experiences: patience, and nobody learns the exact same way as anyone else. I will tailor tutoring sessions to each individual student. This will include homework, and progress reports.
I also ask for progress reports for my services. I appreciate constructive criticism, as everything I learn only helps me become better.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
