Hello to all my profile visitors!

I have a BA in physics from Rice University which included a lot of mathematics and physics, and I am Texas-certified to teach secondary math and physics. I taught both subjects at the high school level, and I tutored junior high and high school subjects while I was in college.

I probably have about equal amounts of tutoring hours working with high school as with college students, and I've helped a couple of middle school students with algebra as well.

(I live in Lubbock, Texas and greatly prefer in-person tutoring over online tutoring. If you want online help, please try to mention it in the first message you send to me. My online rate is much cheaper than my in-person rate if that's what you want to do.)

Last-day cramming for math or physics exams is rarely effective, and I'd prefer not to get involved in that. You and I would both be dissatisfied. Digging into a a topic or a test review a few _days_ before being tested on it will work much better, and I'm happy to slog through some long hours with you if that's what you want.

Best of luck to you in your studies,
Keith T.

Reviews

I highly recommend Keith because he is nice with kids.

My son is in 4th grade and English is his 2nd language and he needed help with reading and math, Keith was so kind to him and he really wanted to help; he looked at the expectation of the 4th grade first and prepared for the lesson. I highly recommend Keith for teaching kids.

Patient and Knowledgeable

Keith is working with my daughter on physics. He is extremely responsive, and she enjoys her sessions. While she hasn't yet taken a test, I feel he will work hard to help prepare her for upcoming exams. She seems to really understand what he is saying, and he seems very dedicated.

Great Physics tutor

Keith tutored my daughter in physics at Texas Tech. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He takes his time and goes at a pace that is comfortable for the student. After going to Keith, my daughter had the confidence and knowledge she needed to be successful in the class. So glad we found him!!!

Patient and encouraging

My kid is shy and wouldn't talk much, but they worked through several homework problems and Keith got her to ask a couple of questions so he could address them. We'll be calling him for help in the future!

Helpful GRE Math Tutor

Keith was extremely helpful when preparing for my GRE. He is very knowledgeable about math and provided an excellent GRE Math Review. He has no problem explaining concepts in a different way, if you do not understand the first way. I in no way felt rushed to understand the concepts. He was an all around great tutor.

Just Getting Started

Keith has only worked with my son a few times, but he has already come up a full grade in Algebra I. The teacher has commented on his clear improvement. We still have a ways to go, but Keith has been wonderful and patient!

Easy rapport and knowlegeable tutor

Great support on physics. Keith did a great job of breaking things down into manageable pieces and left my high school physics student with a sense of confidence. We will definitely call on his services again.
