About Gail

I am a chemistry instructor having over 15 years of teaching/tutoring experience (community college and university) and an extensive background in advanced chemistry courses (as a PhD student). I can effectively communicate scientific information in a concise, simple, and understandable manner while making learning fun and enjoyable. I have taught college level general chemistry and privately tutored both college and high school students.

My tutoring experience covers General Chemistry I and II (science and non-science majors), AP and Honors Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry courses. I have also lectured general chemistry and upper level physical chemistry laboratory concepts. I am also familiar with online teaching methods such as Mastering Chemistry.

I love math and science, especially chemistry, and have a passion for problem solving. I use simple teaching methods that make chemistry easy to grasp and I’m always seeking to improve with new and innovative techniques for each of my students.

Most importantly, what I love about tutoring is knowing that at the end of each session, I have made a difference in someone’s education that has helped them excel in areas of math and science which for them just seems to be a difficult journey.

I consider myself to be an exceptional chemistry teacher/tutor because I am very knowledgeable and work relentlessly to ensure that my students fully comprehend difficult concepts. I make every effort in creating and maintaining a professional, cooperative, and safe learning environment for all of my students. I am also very aware that each individual learns differently, some at a faster pace than others, but regardless of your academic level (or needs), I am here to help anyone having a strong work ethic and readiness to learn.

Given the competition, college students and parents of high schoolers want the finest education for themselves as well as their children, and I strive to do my best in providing clear and quality instruction.

If you are (a student or parent of a student) in need of chemistry help, please do not hesitate to contact me for tutoring. I am flexible and will patiently work with you providing one-on-one assistance (or group sessions if requested) no matter how long it takes to make sure you have a thorough understanding of the materials/models/theories to succeed in chemistry.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Informative Lesson with a Great Tutor!

I am currently enrolled in AP Chemistry with a teacher that doesn't teach the concepts very well. Ms. Gail went over difficult thermodynamic problems (ex: enthalpy, calorimetry) with me and explained each step very thoroughly. I learned how the equations fit each specific problem and why certain variables or units were used. I ended up scoring an A (from a usual B) on my last test thanks to Ms. Ga
