The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Graphic Design)
I love all things graphic design, and have 8+ years of experience using, exploring, and advancing my skills in Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver) as well as web design skills and coding languages (HTML, CSS, and WordPress). I have a Bachelor of Art degree in Graphic Design from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2007). For the past four years, I've been an independent designer, working with clients in the US & Canada.
However, I do remember what it's like to learn the software and coding languages, struggling through the basics and trying to learn the ropes of such advanced design tools.
In my tutoring sessions, I will draw on my own experience as a student, as well as my current knowledge gained over the past decade, to help you learn (a.k.a. "get the hang of it"). Depending on where you're at, I can walk you through the basics, and when/if you're ready I can even teach you some tricks and shortcuts to improve your mastery of the software or coding language.
As far as location, I'm willing to travel up to 20 miles to meet you where you're at (whether that's a school computer lab, or in your home). I know sometimes things come up, so in the event you need to cancel a session, I simply ask for 24 hours notice.
May you be blessed and have much success in all your learning endeavors! I love all things graphic design, and have 8+ years of experience using, exploring, and advancing my skills in Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and … Read more
I have a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, which included coursework in InDesign. In addition, I took a continuing education course in advanced use of InDesign at Austin Community College.
My experience includes extensive use of InDesign to create large publications such as magazines, and smaller items like brochures and booklets. I look forward to helping students master this fantastic and useful software.
I have a Bachelor of Art degree in Graphic Design from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2007).
I minored in Art as well, so I have a solid foundation of design principles, as well as drawing--which I believe is very important to the design process.
I've spent four years as an independent designer, working for clients in the US & Canada, and developing my skills even further along the way. Post-college, I taught myself CSS and learned to use WordPress for website design. I'm looking forward to helping students understand and master the art of design.
I have been coding in HTML for nearly a decade, building sites in Dreamweaver for a decade as well, and have four years of experience designing websites in WordPress. In my freelance business, it has often been necessary to teach my clients WordPress so they can manage the site on their own after I've designed and built the initial website.
