##### About Kimberly

Hello, my name in Kim. Math has always been a passion of mine. At an early age, I found my love for Math. Numbers have just always made sense. I would love to share my passion for Math with your son/daughter to help him/her gain a better understanding of number and develop a love for math.

I have taught Math in grades 3-5 for over a decade. I spent two years of my educational career writing Math curriculum for a local school district. Currently, I work as an Instructional Coach. I love analyzing student data and using this to guide classroom and extended school-day instruction. My current school has a Saturday tutoring program, and I am responsible for writing curriculum.

I love tutoring and watching kids eyes light up as they begin to develop an understanding of a new concept.

Math is my passion! I love helping struggling students, who think they hate Math, find their love for it. I have taught Math in all primary STAAR grades for over a decade. I use a variety of real-world hands-on applications to help students see the value in learning concepts that many otherwise seem very abstract. I have a 95% passing rate for all students I have taught over the past 10 years. My career path has afforded me an opportunity to work with a very diverse group of second language learners, as well as native English speakers. By the duration of my class, many students tell me their favorite subject is Math. I currently work as an Instructional Math Coach for grades 3-5. I help teachers find their craft for teaching Math. There is true value in becoming a mathematician, and I make it my job to help all students find their true mathematician inside.

Spending most of my career working with English Language Learners, I understand that building vocabulary is key to a student's success in all subjects areas. In order to truly build academic vocabulary, students need to have first hand experience in using newly acquired words. This makes it easier for students to apply the newly acquired vocabulary in other settings.
