Hi all! Just wanted to give you a brief summary about myself. I have been tutoring and teaching since high school. I was a 'Straight-A-Student' and would help tutor my classmates as well as the children of family friends. I discovered that I had a knack for explaining things and would be able to break down a complicated subject into something more comprehensible. In addition to tutoring math, my teaching experience includes being a Tennis Instructor, SAT Educator and a Senior Analyst in a corporate environment that has trained numerous employees and am the head of my own department.
My focus is to help students who do not have a strong foundation in math, or may find math to be challenging, acquire new understanding and love for an otherwise dislikable subject. That being said, if you are a student or if you have a child that is good at math and would just like someone to provide endless practice, I am not the tutor for you. Or if you are just looking for someone to give you all the answers to your homework, I am definitely not the tutor for you.
However, if you have always struggled with math and may have gone from grade to grade just sitting in math class, doing the bare minimum to pass the class and forgetting everything you've learned once the year was over, you may want to consider giving me a call...I may be able to help you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been teaching ACT math for 5 years now and have consistently helped students increase their score. I believe in a 3 phase process to learning the ACT math required to get a perfect score: Learn the subjects tested, work on accuracy, and finally get timing down.
I have developed a curriculum which helps students achieve this!
I have specialized in test prep for more than 5 years now and have come up with a detailed lesson plan to help students obtain their best score in the ACT and/or SAT. My average students usually reach a score in the high twenties to a perfect score.
The lesson plan that I have outlined will describe in detail the different types of ACT questions: Research Summary, Data Representations or Conflicting Viewpoints and how to tackle them. I will also help the student learn to apply the scientific method through a series of interactive games and lessons.
My goal is to make the ACT as painless as possible and show students how easy the ACT Science section actually is!
