Bio

I have been a teacher and tutor for many years. I have certifications in elementary and secondary education. I currently tutor elementary math, middle school math, Algebra I, Algebra II , and Geometry. I also tutor in the areas of grammar, reading, and writing. In the last few years, I have expanded tutoring to college level courses such as Developmental Math, College Algebra, Statistics, and College English. I love to help individuals learn and succeed in the subject(s) that they struggle with. There is nothing more gratifying to me than to see a student that I have been tutoring to improve their grade averages in school or pass an important test.

Math is my favorite subject of all. I love to teach individuals how to understand mathematical concepts and then see them being successful in their classes.

Reading is another area that I tutor students in, and I have successfully worked with students with dyslexia.

I really believe every student is an unique individual who needs to be taught as an individual. I really am compassionate about students learning and succeeding.

I have received training from a licensed psychologist over a two year period to be able to work with my younger son who is ADHD. Throughout my teaching career, I have had numerous students who were ADD/ADHD, and I have had great success in teaching these students. I have learned how to teach these students how to study for short periods of time and then take a short break.
