University of Houston B.A. in Philosophy/English (Double Major); Currently enrolled in Northwestern Law's JD program (2022).

I have tutored in various respects over the last 6+ years.

Human Situation Fellow (2015-2018): As part of the Human Situation Course (a "great works"/writing course required as part of UH's Honors curriculum), I held office hours weekly to help students improve their writing at all parts of the process. From interpreting a text/developing close-reading skills, to drafting and editing, I worked one-on-one with students to improve not only their papers, but their writing skills as well. This position included creating a curriculum for a smaller "cohort" of students who I met with bi-weekly to improve these skills over an extended period of time. Additionally, along with other tutors in the program, we hosted workshops to improve the student's understanding of a specific writing technique and to provide a practical example/activity to that end.

Debate Judge (2014-present): I have judged on the high school debate circuit in Texas for about five years now. I am familiar with all the dominant forms of debate (and interp.) and am capable of reviewing debate cases or even performances. As a judge, I evaluate the arguments presented in the round, declare a winner, and provide written/oral critiques as to how the debaters could improve.

Needless to say, I am quite familiar with different types of argumentative writing, and I have found that both of these positions have provided insights in the other.

Lastly, I provided 100+ hours of tutoring with CheggTutors prior to their closure where I maintained a 100% positive review rate.

As part of my philosophy degree, I had to fulfill logic requirements. I found logical proofs to be enjoyable little puzzles which provides space for creative solutions in some cases. Given that different students at different schools are permitted to use limited rules of derivation, it's always an exciting challenge to figure out how to use the limited tools
