My name is Alex. I have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I live in the city of Houston and I currently have 9 years of experience working in the energy industry as a research and development engineer and design engineer.

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring Geometry, Algebra I and II. What I have learned over the past 5 years is that every one of my students is different. No two students learn the same way and no two students struggle the same way. I realized early on that catering to each one of my students was the way to go. I am a very patient teacher. I take the time to really listen to my students so that I can find the teaching method that will best help them. Thus said I have mastered many different teaching methods including methods that work very well for my students with ADHD and other learning disabilities. One of the things that my students and their parents love about me is that I make sure to know the dates of student’s upcoming exams. I make sure to create mock tests for my students to use alongside their review material. The mock exams really help my students feel prepared for the upcoming tests as well as put the parents mind at ease about their children passing their exams. At the end of every session, I reverse the rolls and turn my students into the tutor so that I can become the student. I make sure to give my students the opportunity to walk me through a problem, were I am literally solving the problem only with the steps they are giving me. This tactic really gives my students confidence and allows me to see if my students truly grasp the subject at hand. I encourage my students throughout this stage in our session. I let my students know that is perfectly ok to make mistakes as long as we are learning from them. My goal is simple, and that is to ensure that my students receive the most out every tutoring session as well as to supply all of my students with the tools and confidence they need to succeed and excel in math.

I look forward to working with you!
