I hold a B.S. degree in chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Texas State University. During my time in San Marcos I taught general chemistry as a supplemental instructor and as a laboratory teaching assistant. I currently work as a research assistant for a chemical company and continue to use my math and science knowledge everyday! I hope you will give me the opportunity to help you learn and excel in your science and math courses!

I have a mathematics minor and have loved solving math problems since elementary school. I love solving puzzles and I think of each math problem as its own unique puzzle. The reason I am eager to teach elementary school math is to lay the ground work for a successful future. Math is a subject that follows you through high school-so it's important to grasp the basics early!

What can I say here besides I love science! I find the laws that govern nature to be fascinating and I want to help you see that too. I am convinced that I can teach anyone chemistry by simplifying it to everyday things. I once taught my mother (a yoga instructor) how molecules are formed using Lego blocks. I would love to help you excel!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Matt had a very relaxed and engaging manner with my daughter. He immediately understood the missing elements in her learning and began to fill in the gaps in an organized manner that was clearly understood by my daughter.

Patient and smart tutor.

Matt helped me review for a test. He knew and understood the material that I knew and that I didn't and was able to bridge gaps between that. He sought to understand where I was coming from with my questions and was therefore able to explain the material in a way that left no confusion. He was very patient, even when he had to re-explain things in a different way or two. All in all, it was a very helpful experience, and the A+ on my exam can testify.
