My mission is to tutor students in a safe and enriched environment so that they will become productive citizens in this ever-changing society. I am a retired teacher of Middle school math and Algebra 1. I was also a Magnet Coordinator for a High School. The Magnet Program was Math, Science and Technology with a focus on Medicine. The Magnet students had the opportunity to be mentored by Rice University students through a program referred to as the
Worthing- Rice Apprentice Program.
I really enjoy tutoring mathematics. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher when I was nine years old. My dream came true. My greatest joy is when I have worked my way out of a job. Then I look forward to meeting my next student. When I see the reactions of the students when they have achieved success makes both the student and I feel great.
I taught Middle school mathematics for twenty-one years. After that, I taught Algebra 1 for four years. During my thirty-six years in career, I was selected by my peers as Teacher of the Year three times. I am patient when working with students. I correlate their success with my ability to deliver understandable instruction. If you are ready to grow and glow, please contact me. Get started Now!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
