In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD, spans a wide variety of variables inherently qualifying an individual as part of the spectrum. Although many aspects proliferate these individuals; it is trust which is the common denominator for success with these folks. Regardless of verbal or non-verbal.
I possess a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as teaching certificates in Special Education EC-12, Generalist EC-6, and Generalist 4-8. I have worked for over 3 years with high school students in Katy, Texas. Most of these individuals were autistic, some inflicted with sever behavioral issues. All special needs individuals are angels in their own right and have very special gifts to proliferate and explore.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, as well as teaching certificates for Generalist EC-6, Generalist 4-8, and Special Education EC-12. For over 3 years I have worked in public high school in their special needs department. The unit in which I have worked is a Life Skills unit. Here we encounter students with cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disability (formerly downs syndrome). Many disabilities, both physical and mental are balanced and managed along their academic, social and environmental learning journeys. I thoroughly enjoy the successes witnessed through the endeavors of my special needs friends; enriching their lives to greater levels than previously imagined.
