Bachelor of Arts
My name is Natalie and I am a graduate from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I have also recently become Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/Teaching English as a Second Language/Teaching English as a Foreign Language certified. I have had experience teaching English here in Houston, as well as international travel experience. I am an out going people person and love to help others learn. I have an interest in helping English language learners of all ages and levels.
I am willing to meet one on one or in groups to help students grow in their English language skills. I will modify my lessons to accommodate my student's language needs as well as facilitate their success by helping them reach their personalized learning goals. I desire to make learning interactive, engaging, challenging as well as fun. This is possible through the method of ESA, which stands for Engage, Study, and Activate.
There are many ways to engage (E) students through warm-up games, listening to music, listening to an entertaining story or a small anecdote, as well as other creative means. Students will study (S) as I challenge students to be attentive to new vocabulary and grammar. They will learn new vocabulary and grammar concepts through listening to lessons I teach as well as using a comprehensive workbook. To activate (A) what students are learning I will use interactive activities such as writing a stories, reading out loud, practicing dialogues, and working on projects to active their learning.
I am willing and interested in helping people of all ages and levels increase their English language skills. I will modify lessons to accommodates different ages and levels as well as facilitate their success through challenging them to reach their personalized learning goals through the ESA method.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
