I am Ms. Tina. Little ones often call me Grammy because I am one. You may have heard my podcast. I love to read! I especially like to bring the book to LIFE by giving the characters their voices. I also enjoy interacting with the book by talking about it or sometimes even acting out a part. My students and I have a lot of fun with books!
In addition to reading, I enjoy writing. In fact, I am currently working on writing a book! Maybe I can help you become a writer, too. I can help you with your spelling and grammar. Maybe even inspire you to dig a little deeper and be more creative! I am most helpful with reading and writing skills of elementary grade students.
Do you like math? I hear "no" a lot. Math can be fun, too. You find math everywhere, everyday. We use math when we cook. Do you like to cook? We use math when we share with others. I like helping my kindergareners, 1st and 2nd graders and pre-ementary students with math. Science, too! I can't wait to share some of these things with you.
My standards are high. I've been a student! I have earned an Associates of Applied Arts and Sciences from Houston Community College and a Bachelors in Psychology from University of Houston - Victoria. As a student, I challenged myself continually and am proud of my accomplishments. My hard work payed off. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa which is the National Honor Society of 2 year colleges, the Dean's List in 2005, and earned my place as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I know you can accomplish much, too. So I'll challenge you to figure things out on your own, but don't be scared or give up because I'll be right there with you and, if you're having a hard time, we'll figure it out together.
I hope to see you soon! I look forward to the many adventures we can have together! Hello!

I am very pleased with Ms. Tina's teaching skills. My son is learning a lot. The good thing that makes my son excited to learn is, Ms. Tina is bringing some kind of a game material, which makes it more to understand. And the activity sheets are very helpful. Ms. Tina is very knowledgeable, the strategies the way she teaches, I am impressed. She is a big help to my son.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
•Child Care Experience.
Three+ years as a private child care provider for children from birth to age 5. 22+ years total child care experience including that of own children. Care included leisurely reading (including use of character voices), and activities with an educational focus especially in the areas of math, reading, and writing. Additional activities may include crafts/ art, reasoning / deduction skills, music/dance. Additional year of experience as a teacher working with third through ninth grades in an after school program (mainly third and fourth grades) which also includes homework assistance.
Creation of podcasts which translated children’s’ books into “live” readings animating the characters for listening pleasure.
•Spanish skills (Beginner/Intermediate). Reading bilingual books to young children, I believe, fosters a love for foreign languages as well as recognition/ development of the Spanish language. Currently, I am learning French to add to my repertoire.
