University of Dallas (History)
I am a recent graduate of University of Dallas with a major in History and concentration in Education. I have tutored all throughout High school and college and enjoy tutoring. My focus in college was European History, but I am not limited to this subject area. I teach in a fundamental way and build on those principles. I teach that way because that is how I personally learn as well. I think it is important for tutors to understand how students learn, which will lead to the best results. For example, if a student is a visual learner or auditory learner, that will influence my lesson.
In college, I strongly considered teaching, but decided not to at the end. I may go back to teaching, but I am seeking other opportunities for employment.
I am an excellent History tutor because I love the content. I would like to portray the content in a manner I was taught, and hope that my students will enjoy it as well.
I will make lessons interesting and want students to learn more. I can work over time, and one-on-one at much as needed. I am here to help and see results! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
