For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

As a trained Engineer I have to focus on being precise. Spelling has been an important part of my work since I have to communicate via written correspondences such as email and reports. As a professional I have to be accurate or else my work will suffer.
A good vocabulary is essential for communicating and for understanding what is being said. We miss out on a lot if we understand only half of the words being used or read. To improve vocabulary I focus on reading, writing down the words that are unfamiliar, finding the meaning and rereading the sentence or paragraph. I then try reusing the word in a sentence.
