Alex is very helpful and flexible in his teaching style. During the last lesson he helped me write a difficult letter in Russian. I am very grateful for his help and his ideas, and would highly recommend him as a Russian teacher.
Great tutor with a warm personality and friendly demeanor. He has helped me tremendously with the first steps of learning Russian. He also has great cultural awareness and provides great example sand context for the lessons!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am fluent in Russian, have studied Spanish for 4 years in high school, and have studied Brazilian Portuguese(in order to communicate with my wife's family and friends in Brazil). I have extensive knowledge of the English language from living and studying in Texas since I was 10 years old. I can help Russian, Spanish, or Portuguese speaking people to learn and understand English.
I have used a computer for over 10 years. I have experience in using word processing, powerpoint, photo software, internet, email, social websites, etc. If you have trouble with computers and need to get caught up with modern times, I can help you learn basic functions so can be able to take care of your general computer needs and keep up with your friends and family.
I have been a musician and have studied music in school and college combined for about 12 years. I have taken many college music courses to expand my knowledge and fulfill the requirements for my music degree. I also have several years of music teaching experience with middle school and high school students. I can help you to get a better general understanding of music.
I am fluent in Russian and continue to use it to speak with my family in Ukraine and local Russian-speaking friends. It is one thing to study a language and another to actually speak it with native speakers. I can help you go beyond the textbooks and improve your speaking abilities.
I have over three years of trombone teaching experience working with middle school and high school students. I am also a freelance musician in the DFW area. Whether you are in school or just enjoy playing the trombone as a hobby, I can help you set goals, get focused in your practice, and use your time efficiently to improve your playing ability. I believe that the better you are as a player, the more enjoyment you will get out of music. It is never too late to pick up the horn again or to start fresh and learn to enjoy life in a whole new way through music!
