Hi, I’m Adarsh! I am an Aerospace Engineering undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin. In high school, a lot of my friends would ask me for help in coding, math, and physics, and I realized I really enjoyed explaining topics I was confident in and liked. I have experience tutoring students of various ages. I have had over 3 months of experience tutoring both high schoolers and college students through MyTutorLearning and my engineering school's engineering tutor program. I have also been able to refine my teaching communication skills through my 6 years of teaching Taekwondo to both kids and adults.
My approach to tutoring is simple. For every topic, there is knowledge to be learned, and then places where that knowledge is applied, and doing one of those things is insufficient for learning. For example, learning a concept such as momentum with all the equations but not practicing would not lead to true learning. I will ensure my students get a good foundation of knowledge in a topic as well as a lot of problems to apply what they have just learned. I believe that to learn a subject, a student must want to learn it, and oftentimes students dislike a subject because they do not understand what it is useful for. I aim to provide real-world examples for subjects such as physics and math to show the usefulness of what the student has just learned.
I have also noticed that students, including myself, dislike a subject if their teacher is bad teacher. Having suffered from this problem myself, it is my priority to teach in an engaging way, asking questions to gauge understanding, and ensuring that the student feels comfortable and interested.
Here are a few of my qualifications: 5is in AP Physics C: Mechanics and E&M, Physics 2, Physics 1, and Calculus BC, GPA: 4.0/4.0.
