As an artist I have committed my life to my craft. I stared at a very young age taking art lessons from professional artist. Painting in oils ,watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, airbrush, silkscreen printing, Linoleum prints, copper engraving, and copper etchings. Drawing using graphite, silver point, pastels, and charcoal. I have a B.F.A. from Texas A&M in Kingsville, Texas.
I started my professional career as an Illustrator in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam war.
After graduating from college I became a technical Illustrator for Fortune 500 Companies I have over 35 years as a professional artist. I have taught in a Art school as a graphic arts instructor at ATI of Dallas, Texas training students to become Graphic Artist many of my students in the Texas Public School System and trade school have become accomplished professional artists. I have both fine art and professional illustrator skills. You can learn those same skills. In my school teaching experience I taught computer Graphics Adobe Illustrator, photo shop and In-Design for over 6 years. Students did the year book in middle school using Adobe In-Design to create their year book. Student used the In-Design program to create brochures and programs for the High school. Students also used In-Design to create T- Shirts to sell for the art club.
Taught high school and trained graphic designers in industry. I also was a graphic arts instructor for ATI of Dallas were I taught students to become graphic artist.
As a high school student I would use Illustrator, photo shop, and Adobe In-design to complete Brochures, Football programs to submit to the Print shop for publishing. The students would use type from Microsoft word to use in In-Design to produce fliers, brochures and other graphics to send to the print shops.
I have taught drawing in both high school and middle school. Using charcoal, graphite,Colored pencils, Conte crayons, pastels, and also using Adobe illustrator in both middle school and high schools for over ten years. I have instructed students in Ink drawing using ink pens, brushes, and drawing pens. I have had private art lessons for four years using both charcoal sticks and charcoal pencils to lay out oil paintings. In college I made all A's in Drawing I, Drawing II, Drawing III, and two Advanced drawing classes. In print making I used Litho Crayons and pencils to draw on paper plates, metal plates and lime stone to make intaglio prints. As a technical illustrator I did one, two and three point perspective illustrations by hand in both graphite and ink. In high school I drew general drafting and architectural drawings in drafting class where I received A's and B's. Both as a student and a professional artist I have accomplished many drawing. I have worked as a graphic artist for the USAF (22331) for 4 years, Datapoint Corp. for 13 years, E-Systems for 14 years as a Sr. Graphic Designer.
I graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville, TX with a B.F.A. and teacher's certification in All-Level-Art.
I have taught in the Texas Public School System as a art teacher and graphic arts teacher for ten years.
As a professional Illustrator/photographer for over fourteen years I have used the 35mm and 4x5 view camera to take photos that were used in the parts manuals for the U.S Air Force, E-Systems, and Raytheon. In my work I used the Stat Camera, and micro-scope to photograph and develop fonts for the first laser printer in the world. I also used the digital camera and edited the digital photographs in Adobe Photoshop. I worked in a photographic darkroom for eight years.
