Bio

I currently work as an engineer helping design the next generation of jet engines that power the planes we all fly on (as well as some the military flies). I have some experience as a tutor from high school/early college years as well as helping my fellow engineering undergrads passed midterms and finals. Through my coursework at the University of Florida and the Georgia Institute of Technology, I have been exposed to a wide variety of mathematical and engineering topics.

I have some experience as a tutor from high school/early college years as well as helping my fellow engineering undergrads passed midterms and finals. Through my coursework at the University of Florida and the Georgia Institute of Technology, I have been exposed to a wide variety of mathematical and engineering topics.

I think one of the most rewarding feelings in the world is being able help a student master topics that they are struggling with and seeing that progress manifest itself in better grades. I remember that many of my teachers in high school didn't make an effort to communicate ideas in a way that I easily comprehend and, as a result, my grades suffered. Because of these experiences, I try to incorporate some visualization into the way I teach so that the topics aren't some abstract set of equations. I have taken courses in integral and differential calculus and linear at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as graduate level statistics and probability courses.

I currently work as an aerospace engineer designing the next generation of advanced jet engines. In my day to day responsibilities, I employ a variety of core mechanical engineering principles such as computer aided design, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and statistics/probability.

Calculus,

Calculus

I excelled in undergraduate and graduate coursework in calculus. I have also utilized these techniques in later coursework as well as in my day to day responsibilities as an engineer. I can connect seemingly abstract formulas to everyday use which I think really helps clear things up for students. Additionally, I think that visual learning is especially valuable for calculus (especially in 3-dimensional calculus) and I so try to incorporate these when I tutor this subject.

Mechanical Engineering,

Mechanical Engineering

In my day to day, I help design/build/maintain jet engines that fly people all over the world. Designing these machines takes a mastery of both mechanical and aerospace engineering topics to produce an engine that is powerful, low on fuel burn, and will last a long time. I consistently utilized CAD, solid mechanics principles, and various statistical techniques to ensure that my designs are safe and efficient.
