I practice the techniques from "Teach Like a Champion" by Doug Lemov and his more recent book, "Practice Perfect." These are techniques that focus more on the effort than the result. In "Teach Like a Champion," Lemov explains that the effort must be rewarded in order for the student to continue to strive for ever better results. In "Practice Perfect," he explains the importance practicing the right things correctly as apposed to simply practicing and becoming great at doing something the wrong way. Combining these techniques is tremendously powerful.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
