I'm a highly experienced Personal Tutor and Academic Coach. I've been teaching and tutoring -- multiple subjects at university / high school / language school / 1:1 / online -- for almost 15 years.
Teaching is actually my 2nd career, as I previously spent over 15 years in early-stage tech ventures. First as a Software Engineer, then as a Product / Project Manager, then as a Senior Executive (VP, CEO). I was involved in developing and launching award-winning desktop, mobile, and web-based apps with millions of users. I also helped raise over $50 million in funding, sold two companies, and experienced a billion dollar "dot-com" IPO.
As a result, I was an early "digital nomad", and I've visited over 50 countries, and lived and worked all over the world. It also allowed me to focus on my new career in education, helping others to succeed in their studies.
I earned a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems (3.91 GPA, top of the class), together with a Diploma in Innovation & Project Management. I also have an MBA from a highly-selective, world-ranked business school. I was subsequently accepted at MIT, but chose instead to start my PhD in Management at the University of Oxford (I didn't finish, I have a research master's instead).
My teaching credentials include the PGCE in Secondary (High School) Mathematics with an Advanced Mathematical Skills Certificate, a 120 hours TEFL Certificate, a SEN Teacher Certificate, and the International Baccalaureate teaching certificate in Computer Science (for the IB Diploma). I am a Member of Mensa (the high IQ society), a Fellow of the Society of Education & Training (FSET), and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI).
* 10+ years teaching/tutoring experience in Mathematics (various topics).
* 10+ years teaching/tutoring experience in EFL English. This includes General English, Business English, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). And coaching for English proficiency tests as required by university admission and immigration (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.).
