Hello! My name is Saul C. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I also minored in education. From the start, I knew that I wanted to help others learn beautiful mathematics. I have 19 years of classroom experience, including winning teacher of the year honors. In nearly two decades in the classroom, I’ve come across a wide variety of students. I understand that every student is unique. In most classes I encounter a large range of ability levels. I feel that my extensive experience has qualified me to help any student reach their own potential.

My tutoring philosophy can be most accurately summed up as: be kind and joyful. Students seeking tutorials are often already filled with anxiety. Learning, at its very essence, should be a joyous activity. I have learned that patience, kindness, and a joyful outlook are key to success. An emotionally happy student is much more likely to learn. I have taught all classes at the high school level. This perspective helps me build connections between classes, and help students embed their newfound knowledge more permanently. I have sponsored the competitive mathematics team for most of my career. Competitive mathematics has kept me current with all math topics.

I feel very fortunate to be able to share my passion for mathematics with students on a daily basis. It would be my pleasure to help you with mathematics. Math is beautiful.

Patient Tutor!

Saul is patient with Ethan. We made concrete plans for our next session. My son feels better about algebra and hopeful he can get his grade up now!

Natalie, 2 lessons with Saul

Great Session

Saul helped me understand Statistics which has not been an easy subject to tackle. After one session, he made the subject matter very clear. I feel more confident with confidence intervals now. Saul provided me with insight that eluded me during my class sessions. I appreciate his simplistic insight that has eluded since starting my class in Statistics.
