About Ansley

Hello, I recently moved to Miami from Phoenix, Arizona. I have been an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapist for the past 5 years working with individuals on the Autism spectrum. I truly enjoy working with kiddos of all different abilities. When I know that I had a part in helping someone learn a new skill or get better at something that is difficult for them, it makes me truly happy. I like to get to know the person that I am helping as to more effectively motivate them through the process of learning. While I have not been a tutor since high school, I have a lot of experience teaching new skills, helping with homework of all different ages, developmental stages, and curriculum. I look forward to helping more kiddos here in Miami :)

I enjoy reading and writing. I'm a sticker for grammar. I play Words With Friends way too much.

Registered Behavior Technician, Board Certified Autism Technician, Special Needs experience, 1:1 aide in the classroom, kind, genuinely caring, knows when to be serious and when to be silly, punctual, CPR/First Aid Certified.

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. I would be happy to schedule an interview.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADHD

In my experience at The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, I worked with people with multiple diagnoses including ADD/ADHD. I collected data on behavior changes as a result of medication changes. I am familiar with strategies that can help these individuals including but not limited to; fidgets, brain breaks, executive functioning skills, visuals, schedules, timers, etc.

Special Needs

I worked for The Center for Autism and Related Disorders for 4 years where I received ongoing training from experienced BCBAs and leading researchers in the field. I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT).

Study Skills

My experience in ABA has taught me the importance of executive functioning skills in order to plan and execute study skills. Using schedules, timers, visuals, self awareness, and positive reinforcement are just some of the strategies that are useful to studying.
