About Pedro

I graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University, Galveston Campus with a BS in Ocean Engineering. The last two years at school I worked as a tutor in math, physics and engineering subjects. Tutoring others helped me to understand advanced topics easier.

I got a Master in Structural Engineering from University of Houston, there I had the opportunity of tutoring some of my classmates. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and understanding with others, specially on subjects such as math, physics and engineering which I feel passionate about.

Math was my favorite subject in school since I was a kid. I always got excellent grades at school.

Understanding physics is very important for an engineer, we analyze structures to determine if they can withstand the forces imposed by nature and by us. I enjoy reading stuff that help me to growth as engineer and as a person.

Tutoring is more than work for me, it is a hobby. I look forward to hearing from you so I can help you to improve your grades.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Civil Engineering

I have a bachelor of science in Ocean Engineering (Maritime systems Engineering) and master in Structural engineering (Civil Engineering). I hold a PE (professional license) as a Civil engineering in the state of Texas. I also work as a Structural engineer for an engineering corporation designing large offshore structures. We run complex analysis to simulate the possible condition during the life of the structure, including storm, seismic, fatigue, transportation, lift, etc.
During school I used to tutor classmates in different subjects such as Mechanics, Static, dynamics, calculus, physics, steel design, structural analysis, etc.
