About Robert

I have worked as a professional scientist for 40 years as a geologist, consultant, advisor, and teacher. I started in the oil and gas industry with a Master's Degree in Geology. I worked for both major corporations (the last being Chevron) and small private firms. I was more on the development side of the business with a strong background in operations.

I have taught 7th and 8th grade life science and Earth science classes in New Orleans. I have also taught for 7 years Historical and Physical Geology courses at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. I was a certified teacher in Louisiana and have been now certified in Texas through August 2017(can be extended).

I have a passion for presenting my subject matter and am excellent at exposing students to the big picture (unifying theories in science). Because of my wide range of business/corporate experience, I bring real world examples to share with my students.

My experience working as a Geologist for decades. I have taught middle school science courses (life and Earth) as well as college Geology and labs. I have done substitution teaching in elementary, middle, and high schools in New Jersey.

If you want to see that science is everywhere around you and that you are part of it, contact me. Young people should realize that without a solid basis in science they can not become wise voting citizens. Weather, global warming, rising sea level, fracking oil shales, drinking water shortages, etc. are all issues that this generation will be faced with and need to understand the underlying science behind the issues.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
