I like math and physics, but I like tutoring them more. My goal as a tutor is to teach students how to learn difficult concepts. I want my students to eventually not need me. A lot of students that I've taught have become tutors in the material themselves.

At the beginning of each session, I go over the short-term and long-term goals of the session and adjust my tutoring style accordingly. I am always looking for feedback. If in the middle of a session you don't feel like I'm doing the very best job possible, we will take a step back and try something else.

Please contact me if you have any questions or want to schedule a session!

Calculus,

Calculus

I love calculus. I took AP calculus AB in high school, and then made a 5 by self-studying for the AP calculus BC exam. At university, my test scores allowed me to skip the two sequence class, but I took both calculus application classes and used calculus in the majority of my physics classes. I also have tutored it extensively at the college level, both for university and community college students.
Physics,

Physics

I majored in physics at UT. I have been an undergraduate teaching assistant for algebra-based physics, where I taught the lab portion and led office hours and reviews for lecture portion. Most of my tutoring experience is in physics 1 and 2.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I made a 780 on my SAT Math and a 770 on my SAT Math II subject test in 2011. Since then I have tutored all of the math subjects tested on the exam individually.

Helpful

I wish we had gotten Whitney for a tutor sooner, she is helping my daughter with her AP physics. My daughter is already understanding concepts much better. We expect to see great results soon.

very knowledgeable

Whitney gave me a last minute response and saved me when my other tutor canceled. She was able to help me with my homework problems even seeing the problems cold and having no prep time. She’s great.

Whitney S. - Excellent Physics and Math Tutor

My son is a high school junior taking Physics and Algebra II at a college preparatory school. Initially, he was barely passing both Algebra II and Physics during the first semester. In just three sessions with Whitney, my son has stated that Whitney has given him VALUABLE tips and suggestions with homework assignments as well as test preparation. He also states that no matter what information he brings to the session, Whitney is very knowledgeable on the content/assignment and utilizes every minute of the session help him to better understand the content. My son now has a B average in Physics and a C average in Algebra II. It's been a struggle. But he feels confident that with Whitney's help he will have at least a B average in both courses by the end of his junior year!

FINALLY...A TUTOR THAT MAKES SENSE!

My daughter has been struggling in AP Physics this semester, so I had to find her a tutor. The first 2 tutors left my daughter even more confused than before the sessions began. But after meeting with Whitney, she's beginning to better understand the concepts of Physics (which apparently is the most important thing). She's got a ways to go in improving her performance, but I do feels as though the time with Whitney has paid off.

Quick response, great tutor!

Whitney responded quickly to our request to help our son with AP Physics and was able to schedule time for him the same night. She reviewed so much with him in one hour. He felt much more confident heading into his test. Thanks Whitney! We will definitely be in touch for more Physics tutoring!

Very informative tutor

Whitney was very informative and helpful! We will definitely use her again! She was prepared for the session, told us what to expect and offered for us to message her with questions.

Knowledgable

AP Physics Newton’s Laws. Efficient, effective. Knows her stuff. Unlike some other tutors where you have to send them the questions first so they can solve it first, Whitney was able to solve problems and answer questions right on the spot. She got down to business, no time wasted.
