About John

I'm 23 and currently working on my two bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. My strengths are in Writing, English, Science and any math below Calculus. I find my special ability is working one on one with students to encourage and motivate in a positive manner.

I excelled in High school math and have taken courses up to Calculus II in college.

My majors require me to have a strong writing background, which has made me a diligent and good writer.

My schedule with school allows me some freedom in how I go about tutoring. I find that most students actually work better outside the home in a good space, whether at school or otherwise, and that the mind is sharper without familiar interference during the session. That being said, I strongly encourage parents to reach out to me for support about the academic issues, and I will work with you to better your child. I am not a counselor though, but I will always try to encourage and help anyone devoted to bettering themselves.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
