Hello, everyone. Beyond my commitment to academic success for the individual, I am acutely aware of how academic success translates into personal feelings of self efficacy and self worth which are vitally important to the individual . As a teacher with over 18 years of experience at all levels of educational enterprise (4- College), I am intimately aware of the connections between curriculum, school culture and administrative practice. You will find that not only am I a great tutor, but that I am also a great source of advice as you seek to be an advocate for your child or as you seek to be an advocate for yourself as a lifelong learner.
My teaching experience is as diverse as I am. I am currently an ABD (All But Dissertation) from Texas A and M University and I work as a Field Analyst/Dropout Advisor for the University of Austin on a federally funded research project. Prior to this position, I was an instructor and Field Supervisor for pre Service Elementary Mathematics teachers at Texas A & M University. Before, I began my doctoral studies at Texas A & M, I was a Middle School Mathematics teacher. Those years of teaching make me eminently qualified to assist both you and your child navigate the educational system towards academic gains. Additionally, I am a certified K-12 School Counselor which makes me not only content knowledgeable but also able to relate to the social needs of school age children. You will find me to be a tutor who is not only knowledgeable but compassionate.
I have a minor in Mathematics and I have taught Mathematics for over 17 years at all levels of educational enterprise. My performance as a Mathematics teacher in K-12 schools has always been exceptional. For each of the years after the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act, I was always selected to provide additional intervention support for students who were unsuccessful on the first or second attempts at the mathematics state tests.
On the GRE reading/writing portion of the GRE test I scored in the 86th percentile. Since I am also a PhD student I am required to write extensively which makes me able and qualified to assist in writing and reading assignments at all levels.
If you are interested in selecting me as your tutor, I guarantee that you will benefit from both my personal attention and professional background. I am available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and would prefer that you cancel at least 24 hours before our scheduled appointment. I am available for online tutorials as well. $90 an hour for SAT reading and writing tutelage. $45 for online tutoring for K-8 students, and $50 for face to face tutoring for K-8.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
