Much of my capability as an instructor and tutor derives from the difficulties I myself had when I originally learned those subjects. I had every difficulty in learning them that seem to trouble most students. Consequently I also learned every method for overcoming those difficulties and the common and not-so-common traps and pitfalls to beware of. I take as my guide what Sylvanus Thompson wrote in his wonderful book "Calculus Made Easy" which is still in print 100 years later: "What one fool can do, so can another." We are none of us fools, but we CAN all do this.

I have BS and MS degrees in Aerospace Engineering and extensive experience working on the manned space program. I also have a PhD in Physics and as part of that degree program I acted as a teaching assistant, teaching classes in electromagnetism and tutoring students in all basic physics subjects.

I particularly enjoyed working with confused and worried students and turning the light of understanding on for them so that they went away confident of their understanding, having mastered the subject.

As a result, I received an Excellence In Teaching Award two semesters in a row, as voted by the students themselves. Recently, as an adjunct professor, I have delivered outstanding instruction in Physics at San Jacinto South and Central campuses and at the University of Houston Clear Lake.

I take pains to make learning enjoyable take and fun, striving for clarity and an easy ability of the student to solve problems.

I am YOUR advantage. Contact me to learn more about how I can help you to master Math and Physics. We'll work out a time and place and get to work immediately.

I hold a PhD in Physics and a Master's in Aerospace Engineering, which means among other things that I have to know Algebra 2 cold. More importantly, I also have a demonstrated outstanding ability to teach and tutor Algebra 2 and other math and physics. I'm currently an adjunct professor at San Jacinto College, where I continue to add to my extensive experience working with students at all levels.
Physics

Physics

I hold a PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. While acting as a Teaching Assistant in the Electricity and Magnetism classes for two semesters I was voted an Excellence In Teaching Award by students both semesters because of my exceptional ability to make the subject clear, understandable, and enjoyable. It was then and continues to be now my passion to turn the light of understanding on for students. I've acted as an instructor in University Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, three semesters at San Jacinto South and Central Campuses, Summer and Spring 2013, 2014, and I am presently an adjunct professor of Physics at San Jacinto North. I was the adjunct instructor of Physics for the Statistical Mechanics course at the University of Houston Clear Lake, in the Fall of 2014.

Can bring the subject out of the clouds down to the students understanding level

Paul tutored us in high school physics. My son was struggling due to classroom instruction methods. Paul's first visit turned my son’s confidence around and he ended with an A for the second semester.

Thank You Paul!

I was looking for a Physics tutor for my 16 year old son who has felt discouraged about ever understanding Physics. Paul has helped my son to start to grasp concepts. My son says that Paul is very knowledgeable and knows what he is teaching! I think we have found our match!

Excellent tutor

Paul has been tutoring my daughter for over 2 months now. We really wish that we would have hired him earlier. He is very patient and very clear with his instructions. Physics is looking like fun after months of gruesome struggling with class teacher. Glad to have found him. Definitely a keeper for all my daughter's physics classes!
