I have always enjoyed teaching and my last position and current position are at teaching hospitals allowing me to educate others. I am able to tutor English, science, nutrition and algebra. I enjoy seeing the moment an idea or concept 'click' with my students. It is rewarding to watch my students (and patients) grow. My teaching style varies from student to student, individualizing it by how the student learns best. It always starts with a review of the material and discussion. We work together to figure out interesting ways to remember difficult concepts and facts. Then work out different scenarios and problems for application.
I am a Registered Dietitian with licensure to practice. Also advanced credentials as a certified nutrition support specialist qualifying me to work in the intensive care units and managing tube feeds and TPNs in the critically ill patient. I review and manage macronutrients and micronutrients.
I've had experience in writing research articles and also newsletters.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
