I am a native Spanish speaker from Lima Peru. I went to a British school in Lima with dual instruction in English and Spanish. I came to the US for college and graduated from the University of Houston Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in bilingual education. Before I graduated from college I volunteered at Annunciation Orthodox School assisting first and second grade teachers. I enjoy very much working with children. I also student taught in an elementary school in Pasadena, Texas. I worked with both kindergartners and first graders. It was very rewarding helping these students prepare for their TASK exam.
During the last 10 years I have been a stay-at-home mom. I have a fourteen year old and a seven year old. Both fluent in Spanish. During my years at home I was very involved with their schooling and participated in various volunteering opportunities at their schools. Both as a mom and as an educator I have gained experience on how to work with children in an academic level. I am also happy to tutor adults. Teaching Spanish is close to my heart because I get to use my native language.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
