About Robert

I'm a retired teacher/coach. I taught high school math from 1978 until 2009. I've taught everything from Fundamentals of Mathematics up to and including Pre-Calculus. But I prefer to be known as an Algebra teacher. Since my retirement I've had a few different jobs just to live. But recently have started to tutor math and I must admit I really missed it. I think it is just one of the most important parts of education to build a strong society. Algebra gives you methods for reasoning and teaches you to analyze a problem before attempting to solve it, break it down into a more understandable form for yourself.

I tried to describe various ways to find the solution all of which have algebraic foundations, because, sometimes the process is more important than the answer. If the student can find the pattern and identify it with a method then he/she will be successful in solving the problem. That requires the student to look at the problem in a way that makes more sense to him/her. This step takes time to achieve but if done step by step the student begins to put their stamp on it and they can do the work.

If you have a High school math problem that is causing you distress contact me and allow me to guide you through the maze to find your resolution.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
