About Scarlet

Teaching and love of learning are my passion. I have been a consistent honor student growing up and graduated salutatorian in high school. I was a Department of Science and Technology Scholar awardee and graduated Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) major in Physics and Technology. I took my MS in Interdisciplinary Studies with Physics Education concentration at UTPA and graduated with a GPA of 3.89. Currently, I am in a Doctor's in Physical Therapy program.

I helped and worked with students from K-12 and understand that each individual students have their own learning style. I cater my teaching based from my student's learning style and I make learning fun by connecting it to real world applications.

I was a Math and Science Interventionist at a 6th grade campus for 4 years. I helped low performing students pass TAKS/STAAR by tutoring them individually and training Math and Science teachers.

I taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science for 10 years in public high school in South Texas. I was the Science department head and helped write the Science curriculum and test questions. I am currently taking my Doctors in Physical Therapy degree in Texas Woman's University where I took Gross Anatomy in addition to Anatomy I and II that I took for pre-requisites.

I look forward to working with you in achieving your goals.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biology

I taught HS Biology and Chemistry. I am a certified Physical Science teacher 9-12.
