The Honors College of the University of Houstom (Geology)
I recently graduated from college, where I was a tutor for the school and the Honors College there. I have tutored for about 8 years now, and I love it! I have tutored privately, and for two tutoring companies in Houston. I have also been an editor for the Stanford University newsletter, Profiles in Converse. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to impact the student's academic life, and also allows me to engage with the material again. I know that a lot of students learn in different ways so I also try to deliver the material in multiple ways, allowing the student many opportunities to understand and remember the information. My goal is to leave the student with a more solid understanding of the subject, equipping them with the tools to tackle problems and concepts with less help than before.
I have a passion for tutoring and helping kids with their assignments, and to grasp key concepts and become academically confident overall. I tutor in the Houston area, and can come to Katy, Memorial, Cypress and others places too. I specialize in tutoring Math, Reading and Writing, Science at the elementary and middle school level. I also edit essays and resumes in the high school and college level. I would love to help your child grow and develop in their academic career! Please let me know if you are interested!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
