I believe that all children are capable of learning and realizing their fullest potential with the right guidance and intervention from caring adults. It takes patience, dedication and hard work, but the reward is generally huge! This is especially true when working with students with learning differences. I enjoy working with students of all abilities and helping them to unlock their hidden potentials. Those who struggle to learn are particularly dear to me, because I understand their struggles.
I have a Master’s Degree in Education, with over twelve years of classroom teaching experience. I have taught a variety of subjects with measurable success in a variety of settings. I am able to provide Reading, Writing and Math intervention services to strengthen your existing skills, or just to help you learn a new skill. I can cover Reading topics starting with Phonics, to using research based teaching strategies to improve your Fluency and Reading Comprehension skills. I am also able to help you improve your Math skills in the areas of Math Calculation, Reasoning and Problem Solving.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've done graduate-level research pertaining to Autistic learners and have previously trained educators on working with them.
I have used phonics to teach many non-readers how to read. I am also considered a highly qualified teacher in this area, according to the No Child Left Behind's criteria. In addition, I have a Master's degree in Education with over twelve years of classroom experience working with this population.
