I have taught college chemistry, AP chemistry, as well as Pre-AP chemistry and regular chemistry courses for more than 20 some years. In these many years the most important experience is that I have worked with all levels of students, and I know how to teach and help different types of students to be successful in chemistry classes. With Wyzant I have tutored many college students, AP chemistry students, high school chemistry students and home schooling students. Many students had great improvement after a time period of tutorials. Some even had a surprising grade improvement from a "F" to an "A" after tutorials plus his/her hard work. It is a true reward and a pleasure to see students having a great improvement and doing well in their chemistry classes.

Nina is an amazing tutor! She is always on time and very nice. She prepares ahead of time for sessions, so time is well spent. She knows what is important for certain topics and has a broad knowledge on the different topics. She was able to take 2 weeks of college chemistry, dealing specifically with bonding, and teach me everything I needed to know for my test in just a couple of hours. She makes learning fun and enjoyable. She is by far one of the best tutors I have ever had!
Nina was a very knowledgeable chemistry teacher and made the lesson very clear. My daughter said that she went through every step and made sure no matter how hard or easy she made sure you would get a strong hold of the material. She would always check up on my daughter and made sure she was comfortable and understood the material.
Midway through the semester, I found myself struggling to maintain a C in gen chem II, so I reached out to Nina. She understands chemistry, she understands how to teach chemistry, and she cares. She took the concepts of chemistry and made them relatable to me. She not only helped me improve my test scores, she helped me exceed my expectations. My final grade was an A, and I am grateful. She is an excellent teacher and has my highest recommendation.
She taught me chemistry and she made everything super simple and it is very easy to understand the concepts now. She made everything clear and understandable in just one lesson. I had really really enjoyed her lessons , because it is fun to learn and easy to understand therefore she made all the concepts easy and it is really helpful in all my class lessons at school and the tests has been very easy and I can just fly through the problems like I have already done the test, she is amazing at teaching chemistry and an wonderful professor
Ms. Nina is absolutely wonderful.
She is a great tutor that has helped my child do good in Chemistry.
She is knowledgeable, and patient. Most of all she really cares about her students!
She is a fantastic tutor.
Nina, was great. She arrived on time and prepared with adequate material to teach. She is very patient when the child has not answered correctly but is quick to praise him if he's done well.My son connected right away and had very positive tutoring sessions. My son has a great new sense of confidence going into his exam . Thank you for matching my son and Nina. Parent of 10th grader.
Nina did a great job explaining and breaking down the information so my son could understand the content. She showed him new ways to figure out calculations and ways to check his work
Nina was amazing with my daughter. She was extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter, and gave much needed positive reinforcement to my daughter...which was greatly needed to help boost her confdence. Would very highly recommend this tutor!
Nina is friendly, very knowledgeable and has great teaching technique. Most importantly she is very patient in explaining subject matter until student is comfortable to move forward.
My daughter transitionned to IB chemistry this year and was behind compared to her classmates who had already taken a pre-IB course. After a few sessions with Nina, her grades have risen to A's! She explains very well and helps her both with homework and with understanding and going beyond subjects studied in class.
I asked Nina very late notice to help me with my AP Chemistry Test over Kinetics and was very happy when she was able to do it. I think she was probably knowledgeable of Chemistry but was not very good at communicating ideas to me. She kept repeating this one idea that I already understood over and over again and it was a little frustrating. I received back the lab questions we worked on together and a lot of answers she approved were marked wrong. After almost two hours I felt the only things I learned, I taught myself. She was very condescending when I didn't know things she thought I should and overall had a bad method for a tutor for me personally. I will not be going back. It was barely worth paying for.
I needed help to better understand the Laws of Thermodynamic along with its’ application so that I could be prepared for future testing. Nina was a perfect selection for my objective. She used (i) easy to visualize examples; (ii) a voice tone that encouraged & welcomed student questions; and (iii) most importantly her prior experience and knowledge of Chemistry made our interaction very beneficial. Now, I have a lot more confidence moving ahead.
I would highly recommend Nina as a tutor for/to any student wanting to improve their understanding of Chemistry.
Nina did an excellent job of helping me understand an entire unit in preAP chemistry. I was absent one day and missed out on a lot of information and got very confused. After studying with Nina I was prepared for a test. I plan on asking her to help me in the future when I don't understand the material.
Just in my son's first session with Nina, she helped him understand the foundations upon which he may build. He actually said "Chemistry is going to be easy!" Perhaps a little over confident but Nina really cleared up his confusion and gave him confidence. We will likely be working with Nina for the semester.
Ms Nina is an excellent Tutor. She started teaching me College Chemistry when I was failing my exams and from that point on we started taking 4 hour classes every week and I ended up with an A. Quite an unbelievable achievement. Huge Thanks to Ms Nina to make this happen.
The first session with Nina went very well. My son was very encouraged by Nina's instruction. She helped him with some very difficult material that he has been struggling with. He felt very confident after their session. He is looking forward to their next session.
Nina is amazing with my son. She is full of contagious energy and teaches for mastery. It shows that she loves what she does
Nina is passionate about Chemistry. My daughter is making A's and B's on her honors chemistry tests after studying with Nina!
Nina was very patient and honest with her evaluation of my daughter's tutoring need. I think if we continue lessons with Nina, there will be some improvement in my daughter's Chemistry grades. Thanks Nina
My son was extremely impressed with her knowledge and ability to explain Chemistry. She is very polite, patient and very professional. Best Chemistry teacher anyone can have!
I had worked at colleges and high schools in teaching college chemistry, AP chemistry, as well as Pre-AP chemistry and regular chemistry courses for 25 years. In one of the recent years my AP chemistry students 100% passed AP chemistry exam, and in general my students have had about 85% of AP exam passing rates yearly, while my Pre-AP and regular chemistry students at 85-90% of passing rates consistently in district's assessment tests yearly. Prior to high school teaching career, I taught college chemistry at community colleges for some years, and laboratory courses in the department of chemical engineering of a university for some years.
