Good day, I'm a certified art teacher for grades K-12. I have been an artist since I was a child and have a passion for all creativity. In college I took a wide variety of classes including 2-d art, drawing, life drawing, sculpture, metals and jewelry, painting, art history, Renaissance and Modern Art classes.
In my own time I'm an avid painter and like to research and read about the lives and works of artists. My favorite eras range from Impressionism to Art Nouveau.
During the school year I'm a High School Art teacher with a full schedule of Art 1 and Painting 2, working with over 100 art students everyday. I love being excited about developing new and intriguing art lessons, sharing stories about the interesting lives of artists past, and seeing the confidence and creativity grow in my students.
I like to bring the past of art into the present by showing significant work from artists and help students see the purpose of each style. I use lots of images to evoke visual interest, then show students through example of how to use tools and medium, before allowing students to get their own hands on experience as I guide them. I like to combine art technique with imagination. This combination promotes the creative spirit and the feeling of personal expression and accomplishment.
I hope to share the world of Art with you. Good day, I'm a certified art teacher for grades K-12. I have been an artist since I was a child and have a passion for all creativity. In college I took a wide variety of classes including 2-d art, drawing, life drawing, sculpture,
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a certified Art teacher and teach students to use basic to third level art skills. The skills I share are perspective ( 1 point, 2 point, bird's eye view and worm's eye view), value scale, figure drawing (breaking the figure down in to basic shapes with gesture drawing to start), self portraits(using face maps), visual texture(to enhance depth and interest to viewer). I use the elements and principle of design. I like to cover the full range of both, focusing a lot on the importance of composition and balance and color.
