Texas A&M University (Interdisciplinary St)
Hello! My name is Sara and I am a 30-year-old secondary math teacher living in the Houston area. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2008 with a degree in elementary education. I went on to teach third grade (all subjects) in Fort Bend ISD at Oakland Elementary for one year before moving to The Woodlands. I have been teaching at McCullough Junior High in Conroe ISD since August 2009. Although I still teach in The Woodlands, I moved to the Houston area in 2014.
I have been teaching 7th grade math at McCullough for the past six years. I've served as the 7th grade team lead for the past two years and I have been leading staff development sessions for the past three years. I won Teacher of the Year in 2013 and was on the math curriculum writing team for Conroe ISD this past summer.
I am most comfortable with upper-elementary and junior high math. I am also great with Algebra I and Geometry. I'd be more than happy to help your student and would be willing to meet at a nearby library or coffee shop to tutor.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
