I am currently working on a project that builds oral language, vocabulary, and comprehension through a series of fiction and non-fiction books. I have been in the field of Education for the last 10 years. I spent 8 years teaching in a Bilingual and Dual Language Classroom. My experience has consisted of PK, 1st grade, and 3rd grade students. Before moving to Houston this past summer, I worked as a Bilingual/Dual Language Specialist for Region 13 Education Service Center in Austin, Tx. In Austin, I worked closely with districts that were new in implementing Dual Language programs, as well as, working directly to support teachers with innovative and authentic learning strategies.
I am native Panamanian, who is fluent in writing and speaking in English and Spanish. My goal in tutoring is to build on the strengths of my students through engaging and authentic teaching.
