I would like us to work together so that you can gain confidence in math! I love math and always help students to gain confidence when doing math. Most students are intimidated or scared of math, but I can show you ways to make it easy and interesting.
I have more than fifteen years experience teaching high school math. My expertise is spans across continents and curricula such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus and SAT Math. Math is a subject whose foundations are so important and they have to be solid. When students start struggling, it is important to intervene quickly because ignoring the problem will cause much greater struggles and frustrations in the future.
I am a classroom teacher and I always try my best to make every student understand. I wish I was able to give more one on one time with each student, but it is just not feasible in a classroom environment. I always have students who I taught in the previous semester, coming back and wishing they were still in my class, reason - "'cause I cannot understand my current teacher". This is why tutoring is very important especially for those who are struggling. Tutoring allows me to invest in one child's specific needs for an extended period of time. With your permission, I would love to collaborate with your child's classroom math teacher to develop a plan to help them excel in math. I am very patient, and I believe that every student can be a confident mathematician! I would like us to work together so that you can gain confidence in math! It is so wonderful when the kind of teacher your child needs is finally sitting instructing your struggling young student. That was a sense of relief I felt when Mr Brian tutored my son in the very first hour! We are looking forward to more sessions of excellent teaching. Thank you!
He helped me out with Calculus BC test preparation. He was fun and articulate. After the lesson I certainly felt better prepared. Thank you for your help Mr. Brian!
A great tutor who is well-versed in what he teaches. He will target your troubles and help you understand them.
He is very knowledgeable, and knows how to translate that knowledge into info bits that are easily understood by the student. He worked with my son on algebra 1 and geometry. He gave my son helpful tips on how to determine what is being asked in word problem, and study habits. My son was able to end his school year better than expected. We are grateful for Brian's patience and we wish him well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra 1 for the last 12 years.
I taught high school math for 15 years and tutored last year a student with a perfect score of 800.
