I love my students!
As a certified secondary math teacher, I enjoy finding fun and clever ways to explain math concepts to elementary, middle and high school students. This year has brought overwhelming changes to the math curriculum requiring students to learn more advanced material. My students know that I care and that I will help them through the tough spots. My favorite thing to hear is when they tell me, "Look at what I did!".
I focus on tutoring math and science. I also help you prepare for the relevant portions of the ACT, SAT, and GRE. I take a planned approach to each lesson working toward the long-term goal, success in the classroom or on your test.
My undergraduate degree is from University of Houston: Clear Lake with 21 hours of math classes and I have a master's degree from Sam Houston State University with specialized coursework in special education and school psychology. I have worked with students with learning differences, AD/HD, and autism/Aspergers treating each one individually. The student and I develop a method that works for them. I bring a "can do" attitude to the tutoring session even if they have not experienced confidence in the past.
I offer a free phone consultation to discuss the learning needs and style of the student and develop a plan. Committed to great customer service, I ask for feedback from every student and I will not charge for a lesson if not completely satisfied.
I meet with students Monday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons. Even though I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I am willing to offer a makeup time.
I can meet the student in your home or I'm also available to come to another location if that suits the student.
Call or e-mail to schedule your free consultation so that we can develop a plan of success! I love my students!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I use a structured review with weekly feedback in preparation for the ACT (and the SAT) that allows the student to capitalize on their strong points and give extra attention to those areas that need it.
