I have taught physics at both high school and college levels and have tutored in various areas of math and physics. I studied these subjects in college because they were challenging and I found them fascinating and fun. I have taught physics at both high school and college levels and have tutored in various areas of math and physics. I studied these subjects in college because they were challenging and I found them fascinating and fun. I enjoy teaching because I want to share this fascination with others, and because I want to help others meet the challenge of learning subjects that are usually assumed to be very hard.

I knew nothing about physics prior to discovering my interest in it my freshman year of college and I had to work very hard to learn it well. I was very fortunate to have good teachers. Because of this, I am good at simplifying the basic ideas so that students can better grasp the essentials. Once this is done, it isn't so hard, and it even becomes fun. What I really love about tutoring is helping students learn to do it on their own, and gain the self-confidence that comes with the achievement. I really enjoy helping students achieve and accomplish their educational goals.

I have the following academic qualifications: MS in Physics, MS in Medical Physics, and a BA in Math. Science and math may not be easy, but with the right help and practice, they can be learned and mastered. Please contact me if you need assistance.

Statistics

Statistics

I made top grades in statistics for scientists and engineers in undergraduate school. I have also done very well in social science statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as having used statistical methods in my research projects.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I earned a BS degree in physics with a double-major in math, and then went on to receive Master's degrees in physics and medical radiation physics. Physics requires expertise in algebra, trigonometry and calculus. And trigonometry and calculus in turn, rely heavily on a solid knowledge of algebra. I therefore fully understand how important it is for students to receive a solid foundation in algebra. I have also taught algebra-based physics at the high school and college levels.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have the equivalent of a bachelor of arts degree in math with an overall grade point average of 3.3. I am particularly proficient in Algebra because I have had to use it in higher math and in my physics majors. I enjoy teaching students the fundamentals well, so that they too will have a good foundation to build on.
Calculus,

Calculus

I excelled in three semesters of Calculus in undergraduate school. I have also applied it in my Physics coursework and teaching.
Physics,

Physics

I have both undergraduate and master's degrees in physics, with a 3.3 overall grade point average. I have physics teaching experience in both classroom lecture and laboratory. I have also taught group test reviews, as well as worked with students individually.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I passed the SAT to get into college, where I then pursued my math and physics double major . I have also successfully studied for and made very high scores on the math sections of standardized tests to enter graduate school on several occasions. Because I have a full range of knowledge and ability in math, I am well able to tutor all areas of SAT math.

Really good knowledgeable tutor.

We went over my precal notes from class and also my precal quiz over rational functions which included vertical and horizontal asymptotes, holes, etc.

Kris, 1 lesson with George
Tutor responded:

Thank you Kris. I have gotten several Precalc books from the public library. I am trying to find time to review them. One is "PreCalc The Easy Way" , another is "PreCalc Demystified" . They have a lot of solved problems. Take care.
