Saint Louis University (Mechanical Engineer)
Hi, I'm Jimmy. I am excited to help people improve their skills to save time at work and help with assignments in school. I can help with several subjects, but I really enjoy helping people with Microsoft Excel. As a student of Excel myself, I want to pay forward the lessons and time saving tricks that have been passed along to me over the years. I am passionate about helping people who want to learn how to make the most of the program.
I specialize in Microsoft Excel 2007 through 2016, and Office 365. I am prepared to help with subjects like:
1) The basics of creating workbooks and navigating Excel
2) Formulas and functions
3) Working with data, tables, and analysis
6) Power BI tools such as Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power View
7) Programming with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
The focus is on you. If you are starting from scratch, we can review the program's highlights and tailor lessons for your needs. If you are trying to solve a problem or elevate your skills, I am glad to help. Or if you want to learn how to use Excel with other applications like SharePoint, Access, Outlook, Project, and more, I can also offer assistance.
My focus is to pass along skills that can save time or maybe even open career doors. I hold myself to a high standard, and seek constant improvement. For these reasons, if the student and/or parent is not satisfied, I will not seek compensation for my time.
I am excited to hear from you and wish you the best of luck! Hi, I'm Jimmy. I am excited to help people improve their skills to save time at work and help with assignments in school. Jimmy was a great resource and the WyzAnt system worked effortlessly. He was a veritable fountain of information and delivered it in a way I could understand. thanks.
I've only had one lesson with Jimmy but in that time he's proven to be patient and very focused. He helped me discover new tools on Excel
Which I'll be able to apply on a project I am working on.
Jimmy is fully competent in Microsoft Project. He brought logic to the, at first, illogical with a positive approach. His comprehensive knowledge base is evident as Jimmy works with Microsoft Project on a daily basis and has years of experience.
Received a significant overview of the program in the first evening. Good listener. Patient. Understanding. Great demeanor. Couldn't have asked for a better start to seeing the complexities and attributes of the program. As a rank beginner it is difficult to understand where to begin to learn utilizing the program so bringing a spreadsheet of your own data to manipulate would be a plus.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have 3+ years of experience using databases to assist with running projects. I can help beginning users familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of tables, queries, forms, reports, and macros. I may also be able to help intermediate users to design more advanced forms, reports, and queries with the use of VBA. Additionally, I have experience integrating Access with both SharePoint and Excel for improved data management.
I have advanced knowledge of most things Excel, including formulas, goal seek, formatting, advanced tricks, Pivot Tables, charting, Power Pivot, etc.
I have 10 years experience managing hundreds of emails daily on large scale projects. I have used both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. I have knowledge of using PSTs for archiving, advanced search functionality, use of calendars and contacts, keyboard shortcuts, and even a few add-ins to make managing your emails easier.
Working with Project 2010 and Project 2013
I have been working with Microsoft Project since 2007. I can help users with the setting up a project and navigating Microsoft Project 2010, 2013, and 2013 Professional. This includes setting up tasks; creating and assigning resources; setting up views; working with costs and Earned Value reporting; 2013 reports; setting and controlling against baselines; resource leveling; and critical path.
I have 5+ years experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). My emphasis has been in Excel, although I have programmed event macros in Access. I am comfortable with beginning users in explaining the concept of object-oriented programming. I have developed numerous timesaving tricks and shortcuts like filling cells down, automating page setup, and even user-defined functions. I have also written numerous subroutines to develop custom tables, charts, PivotTables, and perform other analysis of data.
